About Chinese

Mandarin Chinese (普通话, Pǔtōnghuà) is the most widely spoken language on earth by native speakers. It uses a logographic writing system whose characters can date back over 3,000 years, and a four-tone pitch system that gives spoken Mandarin its distinctive musical quality.
